Acts revealed for the Secret Garden
MUSIC AND ART FESTIVAL IN WICKLOW TOWN
THIS August, the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow town will host the return of the Secret
Garden Music Festival, which combines music, art, workshops and food to create a unique oneday event.
The festival takes place from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, and will be run in conjunction with the Wicklow Regatta Festival.
The headline act will be Wicklow town’s Birds of Olympus, who combine neo-psychedlic and electronic sounds, while also taking to the stage will be Mongrel State, who fuse Rock n’ Roll, Western and Latin grooves into one giant fireball of sound, and former Alphastates and Babelfish singer Cat Dowling.
Conor O’Connell, Daniel Paxton and some local DJs will also perform during the festival.
There will also be some weird and wonderful creations on display from local artist Eoghan Phelan and 99.9 per cent of the festival installations will be built from recycled materials.
Audience members can learn how to make dream-catchers, wind chimes, magic hats and stone paintings from the Craft Making Collective (cost is €5 per child) or feel the rhythm at a drumming workshop hosted by percussionist Mario Ngoma. Viking Craft Forge will be based in the creative workshop area displaying his craftsmanship and showcasing his wares.
There will also be plenty of food options for any hungry audience members.
Tickets cost €15 for adults while children under 12 go free and these can be purchased at secretgarden.ie.
