KNOCKANSTOCKAN IS BACK!

-

AFTER taking a break in 2017, independent music and arts festival Knockanstockan returns to Blessington this weekend with over 140 show stopping acts.

In addition, the festival, which runs from Friday, July 27, to Sunday, July 29, will have spectacular art installations and pop-up performances galore.

Badlands, AKORA, Anna Mieke, Cathy Davey, Birds of Olympus, Bitch Falcon, Stuck on Repeat, Sister Ghost and Haiku will be among the acts performing live, alongside Shy Mascot, Pete Pamf, Attention Bebé, Holly Carter, Hot Tolka Club and much more.

After a little rest last year, festival organisers have had time to be inspired and come up with a number of new areas for this year’s festival.

Spirit Animal is among KnockanStockan’s latest creations. It will be the largest art installation the festival has seen and, quite possibly, the very grandest creation in art of its kind. Hand-crafted by Brazilian collective Espaço Libellula, the likes of this stage has never been seen before in Ireland.

The Unfiltered stage will be set with beautiful lake vistas where festival-goers can sit and watch performance art, intimate collaborations, interviews, comedy by day and then, later on, dance to some of Ireland’s finest DJ collectives as they play on a stage in the round.

The Danish Quarter, hosted by Carlsberg, will encourage guests to sit back, relax and enjoy life the Danish way.

The Rasher Factory will offer a relentless selection of multi disciplinary artists within a geodesic dome.

There will also be a broad programme of activities to keep the little ones entertained.

Visit www.knockanstockan.ie if you want to purchase tickets (limited numbers remain).
