Chamber seeks business award nomination­s

THE best of the business community in Arklow will be celebrated on Friday, September 14 as the Arklow and District Chamber Ball and awards ceremony takes place in the Arklow Bay Hotel.

As usual, the ball promises to be a wonderful night in celebratio­n of all that is good about business in south County Wicklow and the Arklow and

District Chamber is delighted to welcome one of Ireland’s most recognisab­le entreprene­urs, Bobby Kerr, as the guest speaker at this year’s event.

Both members and non-members are welcome to attend.

The awards will recognise local people and businesses in the following categories: Rising Star Award (sponsored by Harmony Timber Solutions), which is open to emerging businesses opened within the last 24 months; Best Business for Customer Service Award (voted for by the public and sponsored by ASL Safety & Training), which is for establishe­d businesses who excel in customer service in any sector, small, medium or large; Arklow Community Award (sponsored by The Arklow Bay Hotel), which is open to any business providing tourism-related services or a community group or individual helping to support or promote tourism in the area; and Employee of the Year (sponsored by Glen Fuel Services Ltd), which is an invitation to customers, co-workers or an employer to nominate an outstandin­g employee.

Nomination­s are now being accepted for the awards. To vote, go to the chamber website www.arklow.ie or email chamber@arklow.ie.

Alternativ­ely, copies of the nomination forms will be available at a number of locations around the town - Arklow Library, Post Office & Bridgewate­r SC noticeboar­d. Completed forms can be dropped into nomination post boxes located in the library, the Arklow Bay Hotel or the ABEC (Kilbride Industrial Estate) reception area.

The closing date for nomination­s is Friday, August 24.
