The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenance person/car park attendant. On Monday mornings weekly at 10 a.m. join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour.
CITIZEN’S INFORMATION
The Citizen’s Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 a.m. till midday on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.
CELEBRATION OF HARPS
The Bray Harp Ensemble in association with Bre Comhaltas Ceoltoiri will present new work composed by Rachel Duffy and the musicians of the ensemble at the Brockagh Resource Centre on August 24. Tickets are free, donations welcome, booking essential, go to eventbrite.com to book.
The composition will celebrate the past and present harpists of Ireland and especially the first Synod of Harpists from Ireland, England and Wales, who gathered in the 11th century in Glendalough. There will also be
Wicklow Uplands Council invites you to send us photos which depict aspects of Wicklow’s diverse Cultural Heritage. It might be of the stunning landscape, a town or village scene, people at work or play in the landscape, a building, an archaeological site or monument, an activity associated with Wicklow etc.
Essentially your ‘connection’ with Co Wicklow. Entrants are encouraged to provide a short caption (60 words max) which provides insight into the story behind the image. Entries to the competition will be selected to form an exhibition on the Cultural Heritage Theme ‘Wicklow Connections’ which will be launched at the Brockagh Resource Centre for National Heritage Week 2018 (heritageweek.ie).
WELLBEING WORKSHOP
Taking care of your Emotional Health and Well Being: This workshop will introduce you to the basic emotional needs which we all have, including the need for security, connection to others, attention. Understanding these needs and how to meet them in balance results in emotional well-being and improved mental health. So come along to this fun and relaxed 10-week course and take back charge of your life. Starting on September 19, 10 p.m. to 12.30 p.m.

A reminder that the annual fireworks display will take place on Thursday, August 9. Live music in the Market Square from 9 p.m. with music by the Bandits with fireworks later just after 10 p.m.
Rathdrum has been nominated for the Pride of Place Competition, the judging will take place a week after the Fireworks. It is hoped that everyone will play their part in trying to keep the street and Memorial Park clean on the night.

GARDA BAND CONCERT
The RDA is delighted to host the Garda Band in concert once again on Sunday, August 12, in the Parnell Memorial Park at 2 p.m. Come along for an hour of musical entertainment.
GOLF SOCIETY OUTING
Jacobs Well Golf Society played its fifth event of the 2018 season at Rathsallagh Golf and Country Club, Dunlavin on Saturday, July 28.
As usual the society was warmly received by the club but the same was not true of the weather. Like most other parts of the country Rathsallagh did not escape torrential rain and hailstones during the morning. Consequently the front nine was a big challenge for
