BRAY BOWLS

-

A quiet week on the rinks this week with only the Ladies Division 1 team in competitive action.

They played away to Westmanstown and unfortunately they found the grass rink too hot to handle. They brought home one point.

The real big news this week is the magnificent performance of the Bray quartet of Christy McEvoy, Betty Keogh Breeda Keogh and Tony Murphy in reaching the final of the Kenilworth Mixed Rinks Tournament.

This is one of the oldest and most prestigious of the summer tournaments. Well done to all concerned.

The season is very much nearing the finishing tape and the action for the men resumed last night (Tuesday) with Division 4 away to CYM.

Today (Wednesday) sees the ladies at home to Skerries and Division 6 at home to Kenilworth. Thursday has Vets 1 away to Westmanstown.

Saturday has DIvision 1 at home to St. James Gate and Division 2 away to Crumlin.

Monday, August 13 has Division 4 at home to Westmanstown. Remember that all midweek league games now start at 6.00pm. Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14 sees a number of our ladies in action in the LBLI Championships in CYM, in Terenure. Good luck to Phyllis Brett, Patsy Donnelly, Jean Kane and Marge O’Leary.

Our own internal championships are making very good progress as we head towards the finals weekend. A full update will appear next week. Finally the winner of the lotto this week is Ger Minogue.
