Parish barbecue

The Wicklow Parish BBQ in aid of Wicklow Parish and Friends of St Luke’s Hospital, Rathgar will be held on September 2 at Killmullen House Moneystown, near Roundwood, starting at 1 p.m.

Steak, hog roast and a vegetarian option will be served, accompanie­d by homemade salads and desserts. Kids of all sizes will be entertaine­d by a selection of carnival style games, activities and a treasure hunt through the grounds. Adults can enjoy refreshmen­ts including wine. Feel free to BYOB. Family friendly dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.

Children and family tickets are €8/€55 and will be available on the day at the gate or in advance through Brian O’Rorke at (086) 3428226 or from Linda Walsh, Frances Shearer, Rev Jack Kinkead, Alyson Minnion to name but a few. All those who buy their tickets in advance will be entered into a special draw. Volunteers to help out on the day are also being sought.

The Wicklow and Rathnew Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from September 2 to September 7 and the spiritual leader will be Fr Donal Roche.

The cost is €745, and includes a deposit of €200 per person. There is a single room supplement of €180 per person. The price includes return coach transfer to Dublin Airport, return flights from Dublin to Lourdes, five nights’ accommodat­ion in the four star Hotel Solitude based on sharing a twin room with facilities, all meals for the duration of the stay, free comprehens­ive insurance, airport taxes, full assistance of a Pilgrimage­s Abroad rep and a full religious programme while in Lourdes.

All cheques must be made payable to Pilgrimage­s Abroad.
