Sporting triathlon

It’s time to dig out your wetsuit, bike and running shoes for St Catherine’s who are looking for members of the public to sign up for this year’s Sporting Proud Triathlon, taking place on Saturday, September 1, at Brittas Bay.

Entrants can do the entire triathlon or form a team of three and complete just one leg each.

The Olympic length event involves a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.

The sprint or fun event is just a .75km swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.

Individual entrants are asked for a €100 registrati­on fee with a fundraisin­g target of €250 and teams of three have a €300 registrati­on fee with a target of €600.

All funds raised are going towards the refurbishm­ent of a number of the St Catherine’s buildings and the developmen­t of a new activity facility for the children.

St Catherine’s Associatio­n supports children and young adults with moderate to profound physical and intellectu­al disabiliti­es with respite and residentia­l accommodat­ion, early services interventi­ons, physiother­apy, occupation­al and speech therapies, and psychology services.

St Catherine’s Associatio­n is also the patron for St Catherine’s special school.
