Nature and art workshop at the Shekina Garden
SHEKINA Sculpture Garden will host a day of peace and tranquillity next month with a workshop on ‘Meandering with Art and Nature’.
Participants will experience the art of ‘slow looking’ by joining Ashleigh Downey,
Tony Suttle and Catherine
McCann for a sensory, mindful, and creative day at the garden in Glenmalure.
Ashleigh is an ecological artist and creative facilitator, Tony is an octogenarian lover of art and teacher of art history, appreciation and enjoyment and Catherine is the creator and curator of the beautiful Shekina Sculpture Garden.
Created over 40 years by Catherine, the garden is an acre-sized oasis of peace and beauty where workshop participants will be invited to stroll, sit, drink tea, bring a picnic, and, if desired, discuss meditation, mindfulness, art and the works on display,
There will also be an opportunity to exercise one’s own creativity and write, draw or compose some small personal representation of an afternoon at Shekina.
Ashleigh, Tony and Catherine will offer discrete inputs during the day, both in groups and to individuals, to the extent requested and her hope is that everyone will go away feeling more inspired and uplifted than when they arrive.
The event takes place from 11.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, September 1. It costs €40 per participant but a ten per cent discount is available to those who book seven days in advance. To book a place, call (086) 1547244 or (087) 7478470.
