BRAY BOWLS

-

In the week just gone our Division 4 team recorded a very good 5.5 to 0.5 victory at home to Westmanstown.

The highlight of the evening was Bob Neilson’s wonder shot to help his rink to a draw.

Others to impress on the night were Dick Fowler and Gabriel Cahill.

Wednesday saw Division 6 involved in a very tight affair at home to league leaders Greenhills. The game ended all square. Bray are still in second place. Keep it going lads.

Thursday saw Vets 1 defeat St. Jame Gate at home 3/1. With two games to go Bray have their destiny in their own hands.

Both Division 1 and 2 were in action on Saturday last with Division 1 falling to a 1/6 defeat away in Rathmines to Leinster. Walter Doyle’s rink performed particularly well on the day.

Meanwhile Division 2 had a great 6/1 win at home to St. James Gate where Alan Rath played well on his return to Division 2.

He was ably assisted by Nick Howlett and Eddie Condren. This coming Wednesday sees the ladies complete their programme for the season with a trip to leafy Blackrock.

Division 6 have a free week. Saturday next has Division 1 at home to Blackrock and Division 2 travel to play Lerne in the shadows of Croke Park. Could there be a surprise visitor to the rink on the day?

Next Monday, 27th of August Division 4 complete their season with a home game against our neighbours from Greystones. We offer our congrats to Ann Barry from Greystones Bowling Club who was named Junior Bowler of the week at the recent LBLI Championships. Ann got to three finals - singles, pairs and triples. She won the pairs with her partner Hannah Mc Inerney.

Finally Betty Keogh has won the lotto for the second week in a row.
