Special match in memory of Jordan
A SPECIAL commemorative match in honour of the late Jordan Quinn takes place in Shamrock Park, Rathnew on Friday.
Jordan of Wilton Manor, Rathnew, a talented and popular young sportsman, sadly passed away in May of this year, aged 20.
The main organisers of the memorial match are Rathnew AFC and things kick-off at 6.30 p.m.
A club spokesperson said: ‘The level of interest in this match has been phenomenal and the club has been inundated with messages of support and goodwill and loads of players wanting to take part and this is testimony to the high esteem that Jordan was held in’.
Local referee Tony ‘Butch’ Doran has offered to officiate the match, while former Rathnew player Mick Nolan will man the shop with tea, coffee and plenty of treats.
All proceeds raised from the match will be donated to the Tree of Hope charity.
