Catherine Fulvio teams up with US TV producer
RTE Star Catherine Fulvio has lured TV production company Recipe.TV to Ireland to produce a six part TV series for the network.
Ireland’s food story will be beamed into 25 million homes throughout the US as award-winning producer Lisa-Renee Ramirez ad film crews visited Ireland to film two TV programmes, A Taste of Ireland and Discovering Ireland’s Ancient East.
Catherine worked alongside the Emmy award-winning producer to put together a six part series which will air in the States in early 2019.
‘It’s such a privilege for us here at Ballyknocken Cookery School to have the opportunity to showcase the best of our locally grown and artisan produced ingredients to this huge US audience,’ said Catherine.
‘It’s an opportunity to tell our Irish food story and share our passion for our outstanding product. We hope it will inspire many to visit Ireland and enjoy the flavours of our Green Island’.
In addition to filming with the top chefs, the crew will also include shots of Ireland’s Ancient East and local suppliers in Wicklow town, Powerscourt, Glendalough, and Kilmacurragh Gardens.
Catherine was proud to showcase the best of Wicklow while filming took place at various Garden County locations.
She said: ‘I was delighted to play my part in showcasing all that Wicklow and Ireland’s Ancient East can put on a Plate by filming Derek Dunnes Butchers - famous for their 200 year old black pudding recipe and for their award winning sausages and at The Fish Man where we picked up Wicklow river trout and their own Irish organic smoked salmon.
‘In addition, we filmed a picnic at Kilmacurragh Gardens with Olive who makes delicious chutneys, jams and relishes.
‘Her company name is The Birds and The Teas and we are filming at Luggala with the guys from Wicklow Wolf and at Powerscourt with craftsman Daniel Koenig who makes amazing chopping boards using native wood,’ said Catherine.
