Fourteen clubs represented at hurling trials
at Ballinakill
ON Saturday last, September 8, the Wicklow Hurling GCA held their trials for the 2019 Under-14 and 15 hurling panels.
Club representation was the main talking point of the morning. 14 Wicklow clubs in total were represented across the two panels.
Four teams lined out on the morning demonstrating the talent that has been developed in Wicklow clubs at Go Games level over the years.
Credit must go to the club coaches on the ground putting in the hard work to improve the standard in the county.
A special mention must also go out to the club mentors who have put in the hard work over the past number of months, working with the Academy squads.
Under-14: Colm French (Glenealy), Karl Cooke (Kilcoole), Pat Brennan (Blessington)
Under-13: Jim Darcy (Eire Og Greystones), Pat Dunne (Donard)
Good Luck to new recruits to the Under-14 set up for 2019, Tony Doyle (Glenealy), John O’Toole (Kiltegan) and Michael Anthony O’Neill (Glenealy), who was part of the Wicklow Senior hurling management team for 2018 - five very experienced men to pass on the skills of the game
