Congratulations to our senior ladies A team who claimed the Inter 2 title last Monday night when a combination of their 5-1 win away to CMH FC and a draw between their two title rivals St Columbans and Balbriggan meant they lifted the league trophy.

The girls fulfilled their side of the equation when they had a resounding victory and then anxiously waited for the news to filter through with the result they were waiting to be announced as champions.

Niamh O’Brien smashed home a fantastic hat-trick with Rachel Bolger adding a brace in what was a great all round team performance.

This was an excellent achievement for the girls as they gain promotion for the second season running.

Our senior ladies B team went down 6-1 away to Mourne Celtic of Drimnagh last week.

The girls battled hard throughout but the home side were more clinical in front of goal.

The girls gave a hundred percent and to their credit they always play with a smile on their faces. Win, lose or draw they enjoy their football.

This is the first season for a lot of their players and if they can build on this there is better times ahead. Holly Norman notched their goal on the night.

Our DDSL Youths defeated Collinstown 2-1 at Whitegates on Sunday, in a game that the lads dictated for long periods they surprisingly found themselves having to come from a goal behind to claim all three points. Stephen Finlay levelled matters before Daniel Fitzsimons popped up with a deserved winner.
