SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Alison Kidd, Greystones and Ballisland, who died during the week and was buried on Sunday following 3 p.m. service in All Saints Church, Carnew.

COFFEE MORNING/ CAKE SALE

A hospice coffee morning and cake sale will be held on Thursday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Ailish Little’s house in Donishal, all welcome, proceeds towards the local hospice.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Training for new responders will take place in October, if you have some spare time and would like to join the group and be trained to learn to do CPR, Administer asprin and use an AED please contact 087 2413293.

KNOCK TRIP

The pilgrimage to knock from Carnew is on Saturday, September 29, and return on September 30, the bus will leave Carnew chapel at 7.30 a.m., Gorey 8 a.m., if interested please contact Marie at 053 9426646 or 087 2323966.

CARNEW HERITAGE DAY

Carnew Heritage club are holding their annual working day on Sunday, September 16, at 1 p.m. with cutting and threshing of corn, butter making, loy diggers, vintage ploughing, vintage car display, Country markets and crafts, trade stands, tractor pulling, live music on the field with Theresa and the Stars, Stacey Breen, dancing with Declan and Take five,

The Garden County Country Fest is on Saturday the 15th with Lee Matthews and Cliona Hagan starting at 8.30 p.m. and Friday the 14th Open Air Teen Disco Event and Carnival. Admission to the disco is €10, Saturday night is €20, Saturday night and Sunday is €25 and Sunday only is €10. Tickets available from any of the committee or Victor Young’s, Main Street, Carnew.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

Walk on Sunday, September 16, is at Curracloe/Ravenswood, Wexford C, 10km, 2.5 hours. Meet at Curracloe 10.00 (car-pooling from Tinahely or Avoca). As usual, please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

SPLIT-THE-POT

The winner of Ballyellis National School split-the-pot on Friday, September 7, was the O’Neill Family, Kiltilahan­e, winning €142. We thank everyone for supporting split-the-pot. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.

GOLF CLASSIC

Paul and Eileen Murphy are having a golf classic in Coolattin Golf Club on Sunday, September 23, at 2 p.m. Shot gun start, €100 per team. Don’t need to be an expert.
