Meetings of the Enniskerry History Society resume in October when the autumn 2018 programme will commence and details will be announced shortly.

Dublin – admission €3; Saturdays 2.30 p.m. talk by Michael Carragher on ‘Tanks in WWI’ to the Western Front Associatio­n (Dublin Branch) in the lecture theatre the Museum of Decorative Arts and History, Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin seven – admission €3; next Wednesdays 8 p.m. lecture by Cormac Lowth on ‘The Sinking of the Leinster’ to the Dun Laoghaire Borough History Society in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire – admission €3; and next Thursday night’s 8 p.m. lecture by Ms Bernardine Ruddy on ‘Watson’s Nurseries: From Clontarf to Killiney’ to the Bray Cualann Society in the Royal Hotel, Bray – admission €5.

ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours for the library which is located on Church Road, Enniskerry, are – Tuesday and Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. New members to the library are always very welcome. MEALS ON WHEELS

The Meals on Wheels service which operates in Enniskerry and Kilmacanog­ue, delivers hot meals every Tuesday and Thursday to older people in their homes. It’s an opportunit­y to connect with the community and provide a hot meal and social contact call to older people in the area. We are looking for volunteer drivers who can give up two or three hours twice a month to facilitate this much needed service.
