GOOD NEIGHBOUR AWARD May O’Brien
MAY O’BRIEN has been chosen as the recipient of the Good Neighbour Award.
The Aughrim woman has never been found wanting when it comes to lending a hand to others in her community.
Described as a kind, generous and caring person, May has always been keen to do whatever she can to help others in their time of need.
She was a great friend to her neighbour Noeleen who passed away earlier this year following a battle with cancer. May was with her every step of the way.
May also gave great support to Eilish Byrne who sadly lost two beloved sons in the past three years.
‘No is not a word in May’s vocabulary. No matter where you need to go, May is there for you. No journey, long or short is too much trouble for May. She would sit in hospitals all day long waiting for people to have chemotherapy, x-rays or whatever needs to be done. She has given so much to everyone and is so kind-hearted, it’s unreal,’ Eilish said, as she nominated her friend.
