Congratulations to the seniors who won a hard-fought battle against a strong Avondale team on Saturday evening last in Wicklow town, this win guarantees senior championship next season and a match against Éire Óg in the Keating Trophy in the coming weeks.

Newtown looked to be cruising early in the second half after a great solo effort from young Adam Heffernan who ran half the length of the pitch to fire home an early goal. Avondale came back strongly to level the match after a penalty, but Newtown showed some strong defending to win by a narrowest of margins.
