TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

Details of Tinahely Walking Club walks for the next two weeks: Sunday, September 23, Luggala, B, 12km, four hours. Meet at Tinahely 10 a.m. Sunday, September 30, Vartry Resevoir, A, 20km, five hours. Meet at Tinahely 9.45 or Roundwood 10.30 a.m. As usual, please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

CHARITY RIDE OUT

Kiltegan and Humewood Castle charity ride out in aid of Carnew Community Day Care and village and West Wicklow Day Care Baltinglas­s on Sunday, September 30, 10 a.m., last ride will depart at 12.30 p.m., supported by Shillelagh District Hunt. This is guaranteed to be a great ride out around Homewood Castle and foothills of Wicklow and supporting a good cause. HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING

Ailish Little will host a Hospice Homecare Coffee Day and cake sale in Donishall, Askamore on Thursday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Friday, September 14, winner of the Ballyellis National School split-the-pot is Patrick McKay winning €171. We thank everyone for supporting split-the-pot. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.

The bus will leave Dunlavin on Saturday, October 6, at 11 a.m. and leave Dublin at 6 p.m. to return home. Feel free to go to a show or an exhibition, just shop or visit friends. Call 087 9693960 if you are interested.

HOSPICE COFFEE

A coffee morning for Hospice Homecare will be held in the Dunlavin Parish Centre on Thursday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to midday. All proceeds will go to St Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh. Please support this worthy cause by dropping in for a cuppa and chat. Also, a donation of home baking would be most welcome and can be dropped into the centre on the Thursday morning from 9 a.m. Thank you.

MEALS ON WHEELS FUNDRAISER

Donard/Dunlavin meals on

The Dunlavin Harvest Festival will take place from October 12 to October 14. Further details will follow but if you like to be part of the festival this year and you are NOT a flower arranger, you can do so by sponsoring someone to do an arrangemen­t for you, maybe in memory of a loved one. All you have to do is make a donation for the flowers, and your name and your loved one’s name together with the arranger’s name will all be displayed beside the arrangemen­t.

CATECHISM STUDY

Do you want to understand the Catholic faith more deeply? Or be able to explain your faith better? An adult study of the YOUCAT catechism is starting on Tuesdays at 6.30 p.m. upstairs in the parish office, from October 2 till March 2019. Suitable for age

The Folk Group is starting back after summer, at 10 a.m. Mass on September 23. We’re at midday Mass on the second Sunday of the month and 10 a.m. Mass on the fourth Sunday of the month.

We’re always open to new members We practice after Mass, you don’t need to be able to read music to join in the singing and there’s no pressure to attend every time.
