Busy times at St Saviour’s National School
THERE were celebrations in St Saviour’s NS in Rathdrum recently as the girls from the school were named as the overall winners of the at 3k trail run in Avondale.
Following their win, the girls were presented with a trophy from the Wicklow Sports Partnership.
It was a very tough race and the girls worked very hard to be overall winners. The boys also did a great job and were very competitive in the race.
In addition, St Saviour’s had the overall individual winner, Isabelle Doyle, and other winners in their classes, including Luke Joynt, Charlotte Doyle and Emma Byrne, with second place going to Turlough Devitt and Rhys Tuckett and third place to Isabel Barrett. All participants received a medal.
The school has sent its thanks to the organisers of a fantastic day out in Rathdrum recently in aid of St Saviour’s NS.
Local farmer Sammy Woolmington opened up his farm for a vintage threshing day in conjunction with the Wicklow Vintage Club. As well as the threshing, there was wellie throwing, pony rides, arts and crafts, afternoon tea, cake stall and lots more.
The event was very well supported and raised almost €2,800 for St Saviour’s.
The school has sent its thanks to the Woolmington family, the parents and families of St Saviour’s NS and Wicklow Vintage Club for all their support.
