PLAYGROUND PROJECT

We had a fantastic night in The Saltee on Sunday, well done to all who dressed up. It was great to see so many there. We are delighted to say we raised €6,534 between the raffle and donations on the night. The following are the winners from the monster raffle.

Yoga will be on next Tuesday, October 23, There is a fashion show being held in Fishers of Newtownmou­ntkennedy on Friday, October 26, starting at 11 a.m. followed by lunch in the Parkview Hotel. We continue to meet in the square on Mondays at 10.30 a.m. for a walk followed by coffee in Lawless’ Hotel.

MASS OF REMEMBRANC­E

The Vigil Mass on Saturday evening, November 10, at 8 p.m. in church of the Sacred Heart will be celebrated to remember parishione­rs who have passed away in the last year. Parishione­rs wishing to have a family member remembered at this Mass should leave their name with a member of the parish pastoral council in the church sacristy.

PUBLIC SOLAR SOUND HEALING SESSION

CLEAN UP AND PAINT

Clean Up and paint sessions take place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. Meet at Tinakilly Bridge. The project is to be completed by November 28.

CHRISTMAS FAIR

On Sunday, December 2, the well establishe­d Christmas Fair organised by the Aughrim Business Associatio­n will take place in Lawless’ Hotel from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many small local businesses present their crafts and services and attract a lot of customers. YOGA CLASSES

Mixed level classes (beginners welcome) at Aughrim Community Sports Complex. CLOTHES COLLECTION.

A fundraisin­g clothes collection in aid of Sacred Heart National School, Aughrim will take place from Monday, November 5, to Wednesday the seventh. Clothes, Shoes, bags, hats, sheets, towels are all welcome. No Duvets or pillows please. Bag Collection Date and Times Monday the fifth – Wednesday, November 7, 8.50. am. 9.10.am. – 1.20.pm. to 1.40. pm. And 2.20.pm. to 2.40.pm. (At the Flag poles to the front of the School. This Collection is open to the whole community so spread the word.

LOTTO

The numbers 10, 16, 18 and 25 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last October22n­d. The jackpot was not won. Matchthree winners was: Becky Moules c/o Gossy the jackpot is €3,450.

CHILDRENS PARTY

Rathdrum Tidy Towns held their children’s Halloween dance last Sunday and it was a great success. We would like to thank all those who supported us and the R.D.A. CELTIC STARS FC

Celtic Stars bowed out in round three of the FAI Junior cup by a score line on 2-1 to Kilkenny premier outfit Highview Athletic.

This Sunday Stars put on a superb away to Castle Rangers in the league with a 7-3 win; the goals were scored by Jason Cush (4) and Mark Egan (2) and Tomas Kenny completing the scoring to move us up to second in a very competitiv­e league.
