Roads to close for Christmas lights switch-on

WICKLOW town’s annual Santa parade and turning on of the Christmas lights on Saturday, November 24 will require temporary road closures for a number of hours.

The roads to be closed from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. include the L-1700 – Bridge Street/Fitzwilliam Square between its junctions with the R-750 (Main Street) and the L-5705 (South Quay) and the L-5728 – Fitzwilliam Square between its junctions with the R-750 (Main Street) and the L-5701 (Church Street).

Alternative routes from the northern end of town will be the L-5703 (Wentworth Place) continuing onto the L-5702 (Woodenbridge Row/ Bachelor’s Walk). From the southern end of town use the L-5707 (Quarantine Hill) continuing onto the L-5706 (Quay Lane).

Wicklow Main Street, R-750, will remain open. Local and emergency access will be maintained throughout and diversion signage put in place.
