Armed man holds up Arklow petrol station

GARDAÍ in Arklow are investigat­ing a terrifying raid on a local business which saw a staff member threatened with a knife.

The incident occurred at

Jones Oil on the Navvy Hill at approximat­ely 8 p.m. on Sunday night.

A male armed with what is believed to have been a knife entered the premises and demanded cash.

An undisclose­d amount of money was handed over and the suspect fled the scene.

No injuries were sustained in this incident and the Garda Press Office confirmed that investigat­ions are ongoing.
