Christo give talk on Battle ofArklow

1798 and the Battle of Arklow will the the topic under the microscope as Wicklow Historical Society hosts the next lecture in its winter series.

Arklow historian Chris Power, son of the noted historian Pat Power, will deliver the lecture at 8 p.m. on Monday, February 18, in the De La Salle Pastoral Centre, Wicklow town.

Admission is free and there will be a donation box to help offset costs on the night.

The date for the lecture, February 18, is a change from the usual last Monday of the month.

The March talk will be delivered on the last Monday of the month and at the same venue and will be delivered by society member Ken Hannigan. His talk will be on Wicklow, James Joyce and his Wicklow contempora­ries.

Society members and friends are at work gathering the fruits of their research for the 2019 Wicklow Historical Society Journal, which will bee on the shelves in the summer.
