to the Dominican Ecology Centre on Wednesday evenings at 6.30 p.m. for a bit of fun and to learn something new. CHILDREN attending St Kevin’s National School in Laragh launched their school’s annual trail run last week.
This year, the Laragh Trail Run takes place on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. The event is open to all and is suitable for all levels of fitness. Participants can walk or run the hilly 6k or 12k trails, which go from Brockagh towards Glendalough. The cost of entry is €20 and registration is open now.
There is also a 1k event for kids (under ten) and a 5k event for youths (aged ten and over) with free entry.
The event is organised by the Parents’ Association of St Kevin’s NS. The objective of the run is to raise funds for the school which, since 2013, has housed the area autism unit and provides quality education to a diverse student body.
The event is a celebration of the beautiful Wicklow Uplands and promotes Laragh as a mountain village ideal for healthy and active lifestyles. For more information, visit laraghtrailrun.wordpress.com.
