Reading fun for two generations

- By DEBORAH COLEMAN

THERE was plenty of excitement at SS Michael and Peter Junior School, Arklow as the pupils and teachers hosted events to mark Grandparents and Reading Week.

Grandparents Week was organised nationwide to celebrate the importance of grandmothers and grandfathers to the lives of the pupils, the school and the wider community.

On Thursday, grandparents were invited into the school to spend time reading with their grandchildren.

After the reading session, the event was marked by them placing their fingerprints on the school tree, beside those of their grandchildren.

Everyone at SS Michael and Peter Junior School extends thanks to all who celebrated with them and who made the event extra special.
