Glendalough car parking arrangements announced

-

THE OPW Heritage Service has announced the car parking arrangements for 2019 at the Glendalough Visitors Centre, one of the busiest sites in the county.

Contractors acting on behalf of the OPW started operating the car park last Saturday and will collect €4 per car.

Visitors to the Glendalough Visitor Centre will be refunded this amount when they purchase admission to the centre.

The OPW also confirmed that tour operator buses that use the car park to visit the centre and the monastic site will not be charged for parking. However, all other buses will be charged a total of €25, or €15 for minibuses with less than 20 seats and camper vans.

Theses arrangements apply on weekends, including Sundays, bank holidays, holy days and Easter week, from February to April 28. Monthly parking will be in place from January to September 29 and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays from October 5 to January 2020.

The car park is free on all other days.
