DONARD ICA
Members of Donard ICA would like to say a big thank you to all who supported their church gate collection last weekend.
FOOTBALL CLUB NOTES
We are becoming a very educated lot of people in our area lately. The football club held the fourth, in recent times, in Fenton’s Pub and it was won by an all Football Team –– The Daly family.
The lotto jackpot is now €3,900. There were no matchthree winners last week so we had four lucky dips won by Marvyn O’Neill, Biddy Curran, John Whyte and John O’Neill, who won €50 each. Sinéad Doyle won the seller’s prize.
Club membership for all ages is now due.
This year, 2019, is to be another West Wicklow Historical Society Journal year, and we hope to publish issue 10 sometime in the autumn DV. As you may already know, our journal also accepts articles regarding neighbouring parts of counties Kildare, Carlow and Dublin, particularly if the subject matter impinges into West Wicklow.
If you would like to contribute a paper, have students who might like to submit a suitable essay or know of anyone who would like to contribute an article, please let us know. The deadline for submissions will be around the end of June. If you would like to contribute this year, please email Chris Lawlor on lawlorcm@hotmail. com (or phone at 087 9321737).
Please feel free to spread the word far and wide among any and all prospective authors. Share this post early and often.
