CULTURE BUS

The culture bus will leave Dunlavin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, to travel to Dublin. Some tickets are still available for the Cripple of Inishmann in the Gaiety Theatre. FIRST RESPONDERS TRAINING

Dunlavin Community First Responders are hosting a training morning on Saturday, February 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Imaal Hall. They will be teaching CPR, how to use an AED, Stroke Recognitio­n and Choking Relief and what YOU can do in the event of an Emergency. Training is free however donations would be gratefully accepted. The Irish Heart Foundation Mobile Health Unit will also be outside the Imaal Hall from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m., carrying out free Blood Pressure checks and providing heart health informatio­n. SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jackie Corrigan, who died last week in the care of thee staff of Silverstre­am Nursing Home. Jackie is mourned by his sons Paul and David, daughter Julie, sisters Marie (Keating) and Catherine, brothers Billy, Séamus, Pat, David, Christy, Kieran and Nick, grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews. Jackie’s funeral took place in Dunlavin on Tuesday, January 29. May he rest in peace.

TABLE QUIZ

Donard Glen camogie club are holding a table quiz on Friday, February 22, in Toomey’s Donard at 9.30 p.m. Table of four €40.

CCE Donard will hold their annual fundraisin­g ceili on Friday, February 8, at 9 p.m. Music by Syl and Liz. All proceeds will go to the Patient Comfort fund in Baltinglas­s Hospital. Gifts for the raffle would be welcome.

FLOWER/GARDEN CLUB

Dunlavin Flower and Garden Club will host a demonstrat­ion ‘The Joy of Spring’ by Margaret Murphy and Elizabeth Conlon on Wednesday, February 13, in the Jonathan Swift School Hall at 8 p.m.

POSITIVE PARENTING

A Positive Parenting Programme will take place in Seomra (Imaal Hall), commencing on Wednesday, February 27, from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. This programme is a practical and positive course for parents of children aged five to 12 years and will run for six weeks. Further details are available on the church notice board.

FESTIVAL OF ARTS

The 2019 Festival of arts will take place on June 21, 22 and 23
