Brothers charged with burglaries

BROTHERS Adam Aspil (21) and Ross Aspil (23) from Lindisfarn­e Park in Clondalkin appeared before Bray District Court last week, charged with burglary at four different locations in counties Wexford and Wicklow.

Both men were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning and appeared before Judge David Kennedy on Wednesday morning.

The charges before the court included four counts of burglary – at Osbournes filling station in Gorey, XL Stop and Shop at Redcross, Eir on Wicklow Main Street, and XL Stop and Stop in Rathnew – between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. last Tuesday.

The men were also charged with possession of a sledge hammer, a hammer, and theft of registrati­on plates, alleged to have occurred at a garage in Arklow, also on Tuesday morning.

Ross Aspil was also charged with four counts of dangerous driving. Both men were granted bail.

Matters were adjourned to Wicklow District Court, sitting in Bray yesterday (Tuesday).

The matter was further adjourned by Judge David Kennedy to a later date. A ‘Getting Active in Wicklow town’ talk is lined up to take place at Wicklow Library.

The talk is aimed at those living in Wicklow town who would like to be that bit more active in 2019 compared to previous years.

Wicklow Local Sports Partnershi­p are organising the event taking place on Thursday, February 21 at 7 p.m. Denis O’Shea, a sports developmen­t officer, will deliver the talk and provide tips and speak about the benefits of exercise.
