Sixteen designs into Junk Kouture east regional final

SIXTEEN stunning outfits by local students have strutted into the next round of the Junk Kouture competitio­n.

4, in a bid to secure a spot in the grand final at the 3 Arena on May 2.

St Mary’s College have progressed to the next stage – Mermaid Attack, The Last

Straw and Queen of

Roses – while fellow

Arklow schools Glenart College and Gaelcholái­ste na Mara have seen one design each progress, namely Sugar Rush and Starry Night.

Dominican College Wicklow’s Into the Woods has also qualified, alongside Pukka Up and Kiss Me! from East Glendaloug­h School. The cool customers behind Coláiste Chill Mhantain’s Ice Ice Baby will also take their place in the regional final.

Coláiste Bhríde Carnew has seen two outfits clear the first hurdle – Born ‘N’ Bread and My Pretty Party Piece – as has Coláiste Craobh Abhann, which sees Pulp Fashion and I Can’t Be Bought move forward in the competitio­n.

St Kevin’s Community College is flying the flag for west Wicklow, with its entry Golden Eagle securing a coveted regional final spot.

In Bray, Royal Ice Qream from the Woodlands Academy has qualified for the next round where it will join Nature vs Pollution from Loreto Secondary School and Less Success More Stress from St Kilian’s Community School.

All is not lost for designs that did not make it into the eastern final as a public vote is now open on app.junkkoutur­e.com and the team that secures the most votes will secure a spot.
