Wexford Bus launches new spring schedule

-

WEXFORD Bus has announced a number of changes to its services passing through Co Wicklow.

As of Monday last (March 18), the company’s new spring timetable has come into effect to enhance the schedule and offer a greater number of services at peak times.

The 740A route (Arklow to Dublin City and Airport) will now offer up to nine daily services northbound and eleven daily services southbound. In addition to this, both Rathnew and the Knockmore roundabout in Arklow will be served by this route. In a statement, Wexford Bus said that these changes have come about following consultation with passengers and a full review of the typical running times on this route.

The only change to Route 740 (Wexford to Dublin City and Airport) will see first service from Dublin now departing 30 minutes earlier, at 5.45 a.m. instead of 6.15 a.m. This change is to allow for the growing traffic levels being experienced at this time and will enable passengers to arrive earlier to their destination.

Brendan Crowley, Managing Director of Wexford Bus, said that the aim of the changes is to improve the experience of the growing number of commuters using both routes.

‘The amendments to the schedule on Route 740A serving Arklow and Wicklow show our commitment to continually improving the service offering to the people of south Wicklow. We are delighted to offer more services at peak times and to now be able to extend our service to the community in Rathnew.

‘We are very pleased with the growing number of passengers choosing to travel with Wexford Bus and hope that these amendments will make the bus service even more appealing, said Mr Crowley.
