First Glampotel opens in Redcross
A LARGE crowd gathered last Thursday at River Valley Holiday Park in Redcross Village for the official opening of Ireland’s first ‘Glampotel’.
Minister of State Andrew Doyle was present to cut the ribbon as guests wandered in and out of the various themed glamping units.
Minister of State Doyle praised the commitment, drive and innovation of everyone involved at River Valley which has led to the development of a successful campsite and caravan park which now boasts Ireland’s first luxury Glampotel.
‘The accommodation which is described as a crossover between a boutique hotel and luxury glamping comprises of 16 units to suit 4 or 5 people per unit,’ said the Minister of State.
‘It will open all year round and will hugely complement the other offerings in the village of Redcross, where previously there was a shortage of accommodation options.
‘Given its proximity to Brittas Bay, Kilmacurragh, Wicklow town and Arklow, as well as the village of Redcross itself, there is plenty to entertain all year round and I wish the best of success to the hardworking and enthusiastic team at River Valley,’ said Minister Doyle.
Guests will enjoy private, enclosed outdoor barbecue areas, which lead into open plan living rooms with rustic kitchens attached. Each unit is bursting with wooden character which is emphasised by an actual tree inside reaching from floor to ceiling. Kids will also in for a treat as each unit has its own theme including bunny rabbits, bears, fairies and jigsaws.
