Indian Ambassador attends launch of expanded yoga studio in Wicklow
THE Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Sandeep Kumar, attended the opening of a newly expanded yoga studio in Wicklow town.
Ananta Yoga and Ayurveda Wicklow is the culmination and organic unfolding of the personal yoga journey of local woman Liz Richards.
Known to many who practice yoga, Liz is accredited with over 1,000 hours of yoga training and has been teaching yoga since 2009. Her teaching is fuelled by a deep passion and understanding of the power of this ancient practice. Liz recently expanded her studio by opening a new Ayurveda Therapy and Healing room
The Ananta Yoga and Ayurveda Wicklow studio is located right in the heart of Wicklow town, at Wentworth Place. Through her own observations and experience of yoga education over the years, Liz has also recently introduced an innovative new approach to yoga teacher training in Ireland. Offering trainees the opportunity to complete a 200-hour practitioner training followed by a separate 100-hour teacher training module for those who then aspire to teach, allows candidates to cultivate and establish a solid, well-informed personal practice before deciding whether or not to progress to teacher level.
Speaking after the official opening of the studio, Liz said: ‘It was an honour and a pleasure to welcome Ambassador Sandeep Kumar from the Indian Embassy in Dublin to mark the opening of our new Ayurveda Therapy and Healing room. A huge thanks to Sandeep and all the students, teachers, therapists, friends, family and associates of Ananta Yoga who attended and made it a truly lovely evening of celebrations. A special thanks to Dr Rajvinder Kaur for the delicious Ayurvedic food she prepared for all our guests to enjoy and to the beautiful dancer who entertained us with some Indian classical dance.’
