JUNIOR CERT RESULTS
Congratulations to our TY and fifth year students who received their Junior Certificate results on Friday, October 4. We hope your results reflect the hard work and effort you put in across the three years of study and can now celebrate your achievement with your family and friends.
Thanks to all CCA staff who supported the students, and especially to the tutors and Year Head, Ms Smith, who led this year group over the three years.
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Well done to all our students who were awarded ‘The student of the Month Award’ for September. This award recognises the hard work and effort by one particular student in every tutor group each month.
The chosen students are selected through consultation with class teachers, class tutors and Year Heads. The successful students are awarded with a certificate of excellence at the last assembly of each month. Best of luck to everyone for the month of October.
3RD YEAR PTS MEETING
The third year parent – Teacher-Student meeting will take place on Thursday, October 10, from 4.30-6.45. We are looking forward to discuss your child’s progress to date, to answer questions concerning changes to the new Junior Cert course and to look at ways in which we can support your child as they prepare for this examination year.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
The under-16s and under-19s CCA Basketball teams backed up their wins last week with two very convincing victories against St David’s on Tuesday, October 1, in CCA.

UNDER-19S BOYS FOOTBALL
The under-19 CCA Boys Gaelic team put in a great performance in the first round of the Co Wicklow PP Schools Senior championship on Wednesday, October 3, in Pearse Park, Arklow.
At half time CCA had a healthy lead of 1-10 to 1-2, but Arklow began the second-half with real determination and scored two quick goals without reply.
CCA didn’t panic and continued to notch up the scores, led by captain and top scorer Oisín Cullen. Bainisteoir Mr Maher also noted some fine performances by John Paul Nolan, who scored seven points and James Crean, who scored 1-2 respectively. CCA ran out comfortable winners in the end with the final score, 3-23 to 4-3.
ATHLETICS
The CCA athletics team were very successful when they competed in the athletics meet in Avondale on Tuesday, October 1.
Despite the difficult conditions a number of our junior and senior athletes won or were placed in the various 500m races throughout the morning.
Thanks to Mr Duffy and Mr Porter, who supported the students on the day.
