TABLE QUIZ

The Annacurra Parish table quiz takes place on Saturday, October 19, at 9 p.m. in the Saltee, €40 per table of four. Come along, support and have some fun.Many thanks in advance.

SHEEP SHOW

The Aughrim Sheep Show Committee would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Show a success, including the buyers, the judges and the staff of Carnew Mart. A special word of thanks to all who supported the Presentati­on Cabaret in O’Tooles, Aughrim, the proceeds of which will go to St Colman’s Hospital, Rathdrum.

BOWLS CLUB

Annacurra Indoor Bowls Club commenced their 22nd Season on Sunday, September 22. Bowls continues Sunday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. for the winter months from September to April.

The club’s AGM took place on Sunday, September 29. The outgoing committee were returned to office unopposed, except Fr John-Paul Sheridan PP replaced Fr Jim Hammel, who retired and moved from the parish a few years ago.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Class iss back on Wednesdays in Annacurra Community Hall from 4.30 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Cost: €25 per month (monthly fees only). Age group: five to 12 years.

TAI CHI/QI GONG

Beginners’ class is back on Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. to midday in Annacurra Community Hall. Cost €80 for eight-week block. Class suitable for adults of all ages.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong helps to relieve stress, increase stamina, improve balance and prevent falls. It also helps to increase flexibilit­y and mobility and has many other health benefits.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Members great exercise. Join the Saturday morning strollers, lovely walks and great social gathering, meet in the car park, Avoca at 11 a.m.

Crochet class has resumed to join please call 087 1334590. to that it was agreed that our 2020 Vintage day Event would be held on Sunday, October 13. Following further discussion, it was agreed to hold our Vintage Car and Tractor Run on Sunday, October 27, starting from Coolgreany a midday and travelling towards Arklow, around by Johnstown, towards Aughrim and back by Wicklow Gap, and returning to Coolgreany. This should be a very interestin­g and enjoyable afternoons drive.

TIDY TOWNS RESULTS

Congratula­tions and well done to the local Tidy Towns Group, who achieved a major lift in their

Congratula­tions to Castletown-Liam Mellows Senior Football team on reaching the County Senior Football Final after a very good win over St Martin’s. They will now play Gusserane in the final. Good luck to all involved.
