CATTLE SALE – OCTOBER 9: A good sale of nice quality cattle on offer today met with a complete clearance. Plainer lighter stores slightly easier. Sample prices as follows.

Bullocks: 1 x Lm 550kg made €1,150; 1 x Her 580kg made €1,150; 1 x Lm 550kg made €1,140; 1 x Ch 560kg made €1,110; 2 x Ch 550kg made €1,090; 1 x Ch 495kg made €1,080; 1 x Fr 685kg made €1,060; 1 x Ch 470kg made €1,040; 2 x Bax 520kg made €1,030; 1 x Ch 510kg made €990; 2 x Ch 535kg made €975; 1 x Fr 620kg made €940; 2 x Lm 397kg made €700; 3 x AA 378kg made €600; 1 x Lm 285kg made €580; 1 x Lm 250kg made €530; 1 x Lm 245kg made €505.

SHEEP SALE - OCTOBER 12: Very big sale of fat & Store Lambs, breeding and Cast ewes. Top Price was for Suffolk Cross Hoggets Ewes @ € 180.00. 2/3/4 year old made between €110 up to €155. Cheviot 2/3/4 years made €120 up to €165. Fat lambs between 48kg and 60kg were easier than last week by €1 - €2 ahead. All other lambs in that category meet with a full clearence. A top price of €125 was made for Suffolk cross ewe Lambs. Store lambs between 32kg & 38kg made from €68 up to €82. Cast Ewes made from €55 up to €122.
