Hollywood GAA are holding an Open Informatio­n Night this Thursday, October 24, at 8.30pm in the clubhouse for our upcoming ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ lip synch event.

If interested in seeing what’s involved, meeting some of the other contestant­s and having a laugh over the winter months, we’d love to see you there. Tea and biscuits on the night!

Tickets €10. 1st prize:€750; 2nd prize: €500; 3rd prize: €300; 4th prize: €200. Tickets include entry to Newbridge Stadium on November 15.

Club will be giving a percentage of sales donation to a local charity. Tickets will be available from coaches of teams, players, committee members etc.

Blessingto­n GAA AGM – Will be held on Monday, November 25, at 7.30pm. Venue TBC.

Paddy Magee and Pete Nolan Man of the match will be held on Saturday, November 16, against Ballymore in Blessingto­n GAA at 2pm.

Bingo – Congrats to Paddy Boylan on winning the first ever jackpot of €3,700 last Tuesday night. The nights are closing in and time to pencil in your local bingo every Wednesday evening. Next Bingo on Wednesday, October 23, at 8.15pm sharp in The Avon. Cost €10 includes jackpot and flyer sheets. Jackpot now €1,000! Please spread the word and support.

Juniors – The JAFC replay will be held in Aughrim on Sunday, November 3, at 2pm. Please come and support the lads and management.

Our under-9 team will play during the break and cheer the lads onto the pitch at the start of the match.

U20’s – Blessingto­n in Group 2 with Eire Og Greystones and Naomh Eoin (Avoca GAA and Barndarrig GAA). First match at home on Sunday, October 27, at 11.30am against Naomh Eoin. r.

Minor ladies – Blessingto­n GAA Minor ladies are Minor ‘B’ Shield champions after a closely fought contest with Valleymoun­t on Sunday in Blessingto­n. Final score 4-8 to 3-9.

A brilliant team performanc­e pushed us over the line. A fitting end to the football year. Well done to players and management.

U12 NKL- Blessingto­n GAA under-12s are the Division 3 NKL champions! They beat Clane in Hawkfield on Saturday. Well done to all 18 players who contribute­d to a great win to end the year on a high.

Thanks, as always to coaches who give up their time throughout the year to work with the lads.

Thanks to the parents for bringing lads all over North Kildare for matches.

Finally, thanks to North Kildare for allowing us play in this league and thanks to the referee.

U11’s Dick Allen Cup – Blessingto­n are Dick Allen Cup champions for the second year in a row after beating Dunlavin in a pulsating final in Dunlavin on Sunday.

At half-time Blessingto­n were leading 28 to Dunlavin 10. Final score: Blessingto­n 42, Dunlavin 21.

The Dick Allen Cup was presented to joint captains Ciaran Butler and Patrick Murray by Ann Heatley (Sister of Dick Allen). Player of the match was Daniel Smith. Well done to Eddie Boylan and his lads.

U9s – Well done to the under-9s who took part in the West Wicklow floodlight games in Baltinglas­s last week.

U8s - The end of a great season with under-8s at home to Kill in NKL.

We have had a great season which started with our big day out in Croke Park.

We played in NKL and Wicklow U9 Go Games and making the step up seamlessly.

A bright future ahead for this team as they step up to U9 next year.

A big thanks to all parents and special thanks to Michelle who does all the behind the scenes work.

Hopefully we can add some new players to this team next year to help build a team for future, if anyone knows of boys born in 2011 and would like to join us please let us know.

Michael Dwyers are the under-15 ‘A’ hurling champions after a 1-15 to 2-8 victory over a super North Wicklow Gaels outfit in Ballinakil­l on Saturday.

Well done to our club lads on the panel. Conor Richardson, Brian Richardson, Austin Brennan, Sam Gough, Adam Williamson, Finn Behan and Alex Kendrick.

Congrats – Congrats to Lisa Carroll and Wayne Callaghan who got married on Saturday. Best wishes on behalf of the club.

Hard luck to the Minor boys team and their management who lost the Minor ‘A’ county final to Rathnew after a great contest.

Our lads got off to a bad start going behind by three very quick goals in the first half but fought back to leave it 3-4 to 2-2 at half-time,in the second half they levelled the game and went ahead only to lose out in the finish by three points. The full time score was 4-6 to 4-9.

Well done to the Minor ladies who are now into the final after beating An Tochar in the semi-final of the championsh­ip 4-6 to 2-7.
