Congratulations to Martin Hayes who was elected co-ordinator and takes overall charge of Kilmac CFR from the outgoing co-ordinator John Hopkins. A big thank you must go to the Blunnie and O’Toole families from Glencormac and the Red Lane respectively who both hosted CPR awareness events recently. WEEKEND SOCCER ACTION

The Glencormac United under-eights were left very disappointed last week when Enniskerry did not turn up for their match on Saturday but three games did go ahead. The under-nines suffered a heavy defeat to Wicklow Rovers. Despite missing a few players, the young glens did not play as well as the can but hopefully have better luck next time. The under-10s were away to Newtown in a semi-final and lost 3-2 after extra time. Darragh Murray and Matthew Meaken got the goals in a great team performance. Killian Kearns and Arlo McManus Rutter were the star performers for the glens in a tight match. The seniors travelled to Rathnew on Sunday morning and drew 2-2 in a tight game. Simon Doyle gave the Glens a first half lead before Rathnew levelled it on the hour mark. Josh O’Callaghan finished a great move to restore the Glens lead on the 80th minute mark before Rathnew levelled it again with five minutes remaining in what was a fair result. Luke Reynolds was the top performer in a tough game.
