GOAL MILE

Get the blood pumping before the Christmas celebratio­ns get into full swing at the annual Shanganagh Park GOAL Mile at 9.30 a.m., 9.40 a.m. and 9.50 a.m.

GOAL MILE

The residents of Ashford can do a good turn before they tuck into their Christmas dinner by taking part in the GOAL Mile at Ashford GAA grounds in the village from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

GREYSTONES SWIM

The annual Christmas Day swim in Greystones is not formally organised, but draws residents from across the town and beyond for a dip on Christmas morning. People flock to the south beach from around 11 a.m. where some enjoy the bracing water, others a hot drink and mince pie on the shore, and charitable organisati­ons ask for some donations of loose change.

GOAL MILE

The annual Blessingto­n GOAL Mile takes place at 12.30 p.m. at Blessingto­n Community College. Having grown in popularlit­y since it first began, a great number are expected to let their feet do the talking this year.

WICKLOW CHRISTMAS TOGETHER

Wicklow Christmas Together is orgnaised for anyone from Wicklow town or surroundin­g areas who is facing Christmas without loved ones and wish to enjoy a festive dinner in the company of others. It takes place at the De La Salle Pastoral Centre from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets cost €5 per person (children under three are free) and are available from Track One Music Store, Earls Newsagent, Wings Angel Store or by contacting Lauren on 087 7665131 or lmbkeogh@gmail. com.

LOAVES AND FISHES DINNER

The Loaves and Fishes Cafe will hold its annual Christmas dinner from 2 p.m. at The Bridge Christian Community Centre, 1A Wexford Road. The afternoon will include a full Christmas dinner, entertainm­ent, gifts and music. The event is free and is open to everyone. To book a place, call or message 087 7756736.
