NEW YEAR’S EVE

5RHYTHMS NEW YEAR’S EVE SESSION 5Rhythms will present a dynamic show at the Whale Theatre from 8 p.m. The night will be divided into three parts: from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. there will be a 5Rhythms movement and dance meditation practice; there will be a break for refreshments from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and finally there will be a DJ set from 11 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. This is an alcohol-free event. Tickets cost €25 and are available from the Whale.

RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR

Ring in the new year with a slap-up meal and some dancing in the Parkview Hotel. Patrons can enjoy a five course meal in Synnott’s Restaurant, with a glass of bubbly, for €40, followed by music from Ger Vickers from 10 p.m. to midnight in the Parkview Bar.

MACK FLEETWOOD

Ring in the New Year at the Hot Spot of Greystones with Mack Fleetwood, the country’s top tribute to super group Fleetwood Mac. With such a splendid back catalogue to choose from, the band will bring the audience on a magical musical journey from the Peter Green blues era right up to today. Tickets cost €19/23 and are available from the Hot Spot. Doors open at 9 p.m. @@NEW YEAR’S DAY BRAY CHARITIES SEA SWIM Brrrr-ave souls will take to the water at noon for the annual Bray Charities Sea Swim. Starting from the Esplanade Hotel, the event is run by Bray Lions Club and, this year, will be in aid of Wicklow Rapid Response, Bray Women’s Refuge, Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support (BARSS) and Bray Lions Club Senior Citizens/Carers Support.

TINAHELY GOAL MILE

The sixth Tinahely GOAL Mile will take place at noon, starting and finishing at Murphy’s Hotel. The family event is open to all and helps raise funds for GOAL’s work globally.
