SOCCER CLUB THANK YOU

Glencormac United FC chairman Christy Devlin would like to thank each and everyone of you for the great support the club received throughout the year. From the Academy little stars up to the seniors, the support has been brilliant both for the teams and fundraising and it is really appreciated.

A special mention from the chairman goes to all the clubs young superstars and Christy checked with Santa to make sure each of them was on the ‘Good list’ which Santa confirmed (and probably got stuck for a Christmas Draw Ticket).

Finally on behalf of ‘The Glens’, Christy would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas with your families and a Happy New Year.

GAA CLUB SEASONAL WISHES

Outgoing chairman of Kilmacanogue GAA Club Mark Quinn would also like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas. The club had a fantastic 2019 on the playing fields at junior and Senior Level where they fielded two teams this year, a first for the club in a long time.

The hardworking committee showed great dedication throughout and the organisers of the Lip Sync Fundraising event done themselves and the club proud. To all members and supporters, have a happy Christmas and a Peaceful new year.

CHARITY GAMES

It is that time of the year again and the annual Charity Matches are upon us on Wednesday, December 27. The Coaches are well tuned up to defend the Joe Molloy Shield against Paul Prendergasts under-14 side and this will kick off at Midday.

Then at 1 p.m., it’s the current Senior Team against the older/ ex Glens and all down to Plucks after to recharge. As always, The Joe Molloy Memorial Game honours the Irish Herat Foundation which Benny Finnerty’s game is for Purple House, Bray Cancer Support Group.

A MESSAGE FROM SANTA

Santa has once again been in touch with the Kilmacanogue Diary to say to all the children of Kilmacanogue that he has received all your letters and Rudolph and the Reindeers are ready for their journey on the 24th. He has however asked that you leave him out some cake and some carrots for his reindeers and that you should be all very good for your parents and go to bed early Christmas Eve. Most of the ‘Elf’s on the Shelf’ have reported back to him we hear so let’s all be very good now children and do what Santy says.

THANK YOU FROM YOUR CORRESPONDENT.

As the local correspondent of the Kilmacanogue Diary since 2003, I would like to thank each and every one of you in the community for your constant provision of notes each week. Sadly, for some in our community, this Christmas will be a lonely one as we lost some wonderful local residents in 2019 whom we will always remember fondly in our hearts. But we also had many happy occasions in 2019 which I was delighted to report about and I am genuinely amazed at the number of wonderful volunteers we have in our village giving up their time for the benefit of both young and old. I would like to thank you all for your support and wish both you and your families a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas. Best Wishes, Colm (or Mull)
