Arklow angling brochure launched
THE entry brochure for the Arklow 2020 World Shore Angling Championship has been launched by the Irish Federation of Sea Anglers (IFSA).
The brochure was designed by Blueprint Print and Design and launched at the Arklow Bay Hotel. It features Stephen Walsh’s photo of the South Beach and Pier, which was named in the winner in the recent photo competition.
Darren Ryan of the IFSA said ‘this has been a very exciting few weeks for the Championship organising committee, as we have been meeting with interested parties and preparing the entry brochure for the event. We would like to thank all those that have assisted us.’
The brochure has been translated into French by Stephanie O’Neill. Both versions have been submitted to the international governing body FIPS-M and will be available on their website shortly. The Federation is anticipating that the event will attract entrants from ten different nations with ten teams expected to compete in the U21 event and ten in the U16 event.
As part of preparations for Arklow 2020, the Federation are holding one leg of the Under 21 and Under 16 Interprovincial Shore Angling Championships on Arklow South Beach on February 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People will have the chance to see some of the top Irish junior anglers, including local angler Cathal O’Reilly, and Evan Ryan who is currently ranked 7 th in the FIPS-M U16 World Rankings.
These anglers will be competing to secure their places on Team Ireland and to travel to the UK in July to compete in the Home Internationals.
