Father-of-five Dernaun killed in collision
DERNAUN HAYDEN PASSES AWAY AFTER ACCIDENT NEAR GLENEALY
A FATHER-OF-FIVE was tragically killed in a collision near Gleanealy on Sunday night.
Dernaun Hayden lost his life after the car he was driving collided with a ditch on the L2166 Barnbawn Road at 7.50 p.m. Mr Hayden, who was aged in his 40s and originally from Greystones, was living locally and is survived by his wife Liz, and children Grainne, Katie, Ryan, Sarah and Molly.

A FATHER-of-five passed away on Sunday evening following a road traffic accident near Glenealy village.
Dernaun Hayden was the driver of a car which collided with a ditch on the L2166 at around 7.50 p.m.. Mr Hayden was the only occupant of the car and was fatally injured in the collision.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene. The L2166 Barnbawn Road was closed for an investigation by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions were put in place.
Mr Hayden, aged in his 40s, was a married father-of-five living at Roscath, Glenealy.
He was originally from Greystones and is survived by his loving wife Liz, and children Grainne, Katie, Ryan, Sarah and Molly. He was involved in painting and decorating and is the son of Brian and Ann.
He will be reposing at McCrea’s Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening. Removal to McCrea’s Cremation Chapel in the adjoining building will take place on Friday for a 2 p.m. cremation service.
His family has asked that donations, if desired, should go to Pieta House.
Mr Hayden is also sadly missed by his brothers Bernard, David, Justin and John Paul, sister Susan, brothers-inlaw, sisters-in-law, grandaughter Freya, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and many friends.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the collision, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling on the L2166 on Sunday evening, to contact Ashford Garda Station on 0404 49220, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
