Busy line-up for second Way with Words festival
THE line-up for the second Way with Words literature festival has been announced.
Way with Words features an exciting line up of authors, illustrators and music for adults, children and families including top chef Catherine Fulvio, Pat McCabe in conversation with Dermot Bolger, ‘Sunday Miscellany Celebrating 50 years’ with Catríona Ní Anluaín, poet Colm Keegan, fitness expert Karl Henry, Sarah Webb and much more.
The festival takes place in Arklow and Blessington libraries from Saturday, February 29 to Saturday, March 14. This year, there will also be events in the Whale Theatre in Greystones, Mermaid Arts Centre Bray, Baltinglass Hospital and local schools.
Way with Words was first established and curated in 2018 by curator Nell Regan on behalf of Wicklow County Council’s arts and library services. Arts Officer Jenny Sherwin and author
Olivia Fitzsimons in partnership with Executive Librarians Laura Larkin, and Deirdre Priestly have curated the line-up for 2020. The event will cater for approximately 2,000 audience members over the two-week period.
Arts Officer Jenny Sherwin said the festival ‘is an extraordinary opportunity for Wicklow County Council’s cultural services to extend our programmes and reach into communities in an unprecedented way.’
The programme in libraries is completely free with workshops, talks and events during the day and in the evening time. Small ticket charges apply to partner events.
