Making the move to Carley’s Bridge

-

WELL known local business Enniscorthy Farm Systems Ltd is about to move from its base on the Old Dublin Road to a new site at Carley’s Bridge.

The move is necessitated as a result of the business growing and the need to expand its display and storage space.

Formed in 1998, by Ibar Murphy and Peter Prendergast, the business has firmly established itself as the leading advisor and supplier of farm yard equipment in the region.

Speaking to this newspaper about the impending move - which will take place on March 2 - Enniscorthy Farm Systems Ltd, Managing Director, Paddy Murphy, said: ‘We need the extra space because the business has grown a lot.’

‘The new premises will enable us to have a much bigger display and much more stock as well,’ he said.

Mr Murphy said that while 50 per cent of their business is ‘out on farms’ there is a very wide range of stock on-site that caters for different customer needs.

‘We sell milking equipment that is both robotic and traditional,’ he said.

The company prides itself and is renowned for being up-to-date with the latest technologies and breakthroughs within the industry.

The business is the main sales and service agent for the full range of DeLaval equipment in the south east region.

With the relocation the company will be able to expand its range of on-site products especially when it comes to farm wear and other ancillary items required by those working within the industry.

Enniscorthy Farm Systems Ltd, servicing the Wexford and Wicklow areas, also stocks a wide range of cattle handling equipment and the move to the new premises will enable the business to have a greater and wider display for customers.

There will be a bigger display of robotic milking machines and auto calf feeders but the business also operates a general farm store and the move to expanded premises will mean it will be able to offer customers a wider range of products and larger area in which to view them.

‘We have the general farm store too so we will be expanding that as well,’ said Mr Murphy.

When the business began it had two staff but in the interim it has grown year-on-year and now employs 17 people.

‘There are 17 staff working with us now,’ said Mr Murphy.

‘We are a growing business with the support of our excellent sales and servicing staff providing 24-hour breakdown service 7-days-a-week,’ he added.

One of the absolute success stories of Wexford business, especially within the agricultural sector, the move to the Carley’s Bridge location will mean Enniscorthy Farm Systems Ltd will be able to enhance its formidable reputation as one of the première businesses of its type in the country.
