7 Things to do this week...

-

1 POP-UP FASHION: A ‘new-to-you’ pop-up fashion sale will take place at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club on Friday and Saturday, February 28 and 29. Pre-loved items will be available at bargain prices. The sale times are 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. on the Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Saturday. Clothes and accessories on offer will be grouped and sorted for sale so buyers won’t know whose pre-loved items they are buying. Sellers will have chosen the prices themselves and can opt to donate all proceeds to the cause, or keep 50 per cent and raise some money. Sellers will have the option of taking back unsold items by Sunday, March 1. Otherwise, any uncollected shoes, bags and clothing will be donated to local charity shops. The entrance fee to the event on the Friday night will be €10 to include a glass of wine. There will also be nibbles and music in the bar on the night from 9.30 p.m. The Saturday sale day will include tea, coffee and cakes for sale. To help in any way, volunteer on the day, or provide sponsorship, call Ailish on 087 2380265 or email secretary@greystonesltc.ie.

2 PLAY: ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ will be staged at the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely on Saturday, February 29, at 8.30 p.m. A one-man show written and performed by Mikel Murfi, the story follows Pat Farnon as he walks to town and back again. It is a beautifully observed piece that is funny, tender and, at times, downright daft. Originally commissioned by Sligo County Council Arts Service and The Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo as part of the Bealtaine Festival 2012, the show travelled to the United States in 2015 and enjoyed a three-week sell-out run at the Peacock Stage of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
