PROGRAMME FOR LOCAL ENTERPRISE WEEK IS UNVEILED

THE programme for Local Enterprise Week 2020 in Wicklow has been launched.

Run by Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Wicklow, there is a wide range of events taking place from Monday, March 2, to Friday, March 6.

Head of Enterprise, Vibeke Delahunt said: ‘No matter what their business challenge or sector the Local Enterprise Offices will be putting on events for everyone, be it GDPR clinics, a Green Your Business Seminar, trading online, and mastering social media, or simply, how to start a business, then it will be covered. It is also a great chance to network and broaden your connection­s in business so use it to the advantage of your business, or business idea.’

This includes a ten-week ‘Start Your Own Business Course’ which is a starting point for anyone looking to get business up and going and covers all elements essential for getting started the right way.

The ‘Green Your Business Seminar’ will help business owners to reduce costs and sustain their businesses for the future.

Guest speakers for this free event include Ron Immink, a Dutch-Irish entreprene­ur with extensive experience in entreprene­urship, intraprene­urship, strategy, innovation and SME engagement, Dr. Joanne Rourke, Resource

Efficiency Officer with the Eastern Midlands Regional Waste Management Office and Maeve Morrissey from the SEAI who will detail the business supports to reduce your carbon footprint available through SEAI. The seminar takes place on Tuesday, March 3 at the Parkview Hotel, Newtownmou­ntkennedy. Advance booking is essential.

LEO Wicklow will hold several have General Data Protection Regulation­s (GPDR) clinics during Local Enterprise Week.

There will also be Digital Marketing and Website Advice clinics running which can help any business owner who wants to identify ways in which they can improve and get results with their online marketing efforts.

The week is an opportunit­y for small businesses and entreprene­urs to sample the range of supports that are on offer from their Local Enterprise Office related to a whole host of areas. This will include financial supports, selling, networking, Brexit support, social media workshops, LEAN programmes and sessions dealing with how to make your business more sustainabl­e. Thousands are expected to attend over 300 events nationwide during Local Enterprise Week.
