TIDY TOWNS AGM

The AGM of the Knockananna Tidy Towns was held on seventh January 2020. In 2019 we saw an increase of 11 points, building on the successes of previous years, so we are certainly on the right path. We discussed potential projects and improvements for 2020, we need to continue addressing litter but we need to consider how to improve recycling, energy and water conservation and how we can support wildlife in the area. The committee remains unchanged.

We would like to thank the whole community for their support and help throughout the year and we hope this continues in 2020, please get involved.

Thanks to Kevin Kennedy, Willie Whelan, John Lawlor, Sarah, Pádraig, Gareth O’Keeffe, Pat Whelan, Edward Carroll, Pat Kavanagh, Paul Lancaster and David Maher and Will O’Toole, who helped us with special projects, it is such a help knowing we can call on you, when we need the extra help.

Again at Christmas, the village was able to enjoy the Christmas lights and pride of place given to the Crib, all this is created each year by Patsy Tracy, Milo Canna and their team of Christmas Elves. Thanks also to the Foley family for again keeping the lights lighting by providing the electricity.

We really appreciate our two great workers Willie and John and thanks to Kiltegan Development for all their help.

We would also like to thank Lamberts Hardware and Mick Roche for their kind sponsorship during the year. Thanks to all who supported our car boot sales and donated items for sale.
