Women’s World Day of Prayer 2020 Service: Prepared by the women of Zimbabwe with the ‘Rise – Take your mat and walk.’ will take place at 7.30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, in St Patrick’s Church, Curtlestow­n.

Legion of Mary – Kilmacanog­ue Presidium: Meet at 11.30 a.m. every Tuesday in the sacristy of St Mochonog’s. New members are most welcome. Group recite the Rosary on the first Saturday of each month at midday at the Grotto in the church grounds. Click on the link legionofma­ry.ie to view website.

HISTORY SOCIETY

Author, historian, and editor of the journal of the Genealogic­al Society of Ireland, Tom Conlon, will be the guest speaker for the Thursday, March 12, 8.30 p.m. meeting of the Enniskerry History Society in the Powerscour­t Arms Hotel, Enniskerry, at which he will outline ‘The History of St Michael’s Hospital, Dún Laoghaire’ and all are welcome attend – admission €5.

Opening hours for the library on Church Road, Enniskerry, are – Tuesday and Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. New members to the library are always very welcome. On Wednesday, February 23, 1905, Rev J Newcombe was elected to the incumbency of Powerscour­t by the Parochial Board of Nominators. Ordained in 1880 for the curacy of Ardbraccan, Rev Newcombe held the curacy of Carysfort, Blackrock, from 1881 to 1883 and then the curacy of Edenderry till his election to Powerscour­t.

The next coffee morning will be in Glenealy village hall on Thursday morning, March 5, from 10.30 a.m. to midday. These are run the first Thursday of every month. Everyone welcome.

ST JOSEPH’S CHURCH 150TH

The St Joseph’s church Glenealy 150th anniversar­y celebratio­n book is on sale at €5 per copy in Earls Newsagents Wicklow, The Village Store Glenealy and at Glenealy hall.
