Stars line up to perform at concert and dance weekend Darkness Into Light
A HOST of Country and Irish stars will headline the upcoming ‘Concert and Dance Weekend’ in Gorey.
Derek Ryan, Cliona Hagan and local singing sensations Celtic Brothers from Coolboy are set to perform at the Des Willoughby Promotions Concert and Dance Weekend, which will take place from Friday, March 20, to Sunday, March 22, at the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey.
Hundreds of Country and Irish fans from all over Ireland and the UK are expected to travel to the event, which will see a combination of concerts and dances featuring the cream of Irish entertainers.
On Friday, March 20, there will a mammoth four hours of dancing with Cliona Hagan and her band, Stuart Moyles, John Molloy and Christopher King perform.
The gala dinner dance will take place on Saturday, March 21, followed by a concert and dance featuring the Celtic Brothers, with special guests Lorraine Willoughby, and funnyman Gary Gamble. There will also be dancing to Louise Morrissey, David James and Declan Nerney and his band.
A special Mother’s Day dance will be held on Sunday, March 22 as Ireland’s top country star Derek Ryan along with Aidan Clerkin perform during another four hours of dancing.
The concert and dances are open to the public with four hours of entertainment each night starting at 9 p.m. Nightly tickets cost €20, while a dinner and show package costs €49 with dinner served on Saturday night at 6.30 p.m.

THE Wicklow branch of Darkness into Light held its first meeting last week in Colaiste Chill Mhantain.
This year’s 5K walk/run event will take place at 4.15 a.m. on May 9, starting from the Brass Fox in Wicklow town.
The meeting was attended by Deirdre Hayden and Sinead Ronan Well representing Pieta House as well as local committee members Declan McInerney, Joe Kirwin, Geraldine Mooney (Chairperson), Ann Chambers (Secretary) and Sean Olohan.
Online registration is now open and early bird prices are available until March 17.
This is the fifth event to take place in Wicklow town and as usual is fully supported by Wicklow and District Lions Club.
